John Buckner Project Manager

Good capital improvement projects require (1) learning the Owner's objectives, (2) determining the appropriate choice of materials, systems and construction details, (3) developing a complete set of project plans and specifications, and (4) remaining in close communication with installers. A good consultant needs to be proficient in all phases of the work.

The Buckner family has been involved in the roofing and sheet metal trades in Indiana since 1919. In 1973, John Buckner followed his grandfather and father into the family roofing business.

After completing 20 years of experience as a contractor, John realized the need for a consultant that specialized in building envelope projects. For the next 14 years, Mr. Buckner developed and managed capital improvement projects for the Simon Property Group in 44 states.

Mr. Buckner's personal project log book includes the names of nearly 10,000 successful roofing and building envelope projects. Past projects include the Assembly Hall and Indiana Convention Center roof replacements, the Mall of America facade, Bryan Hall limestone repair at Indiana University, the replacement of sloped glazing on the I.M. Pei-designed Indiana University Art Museum, and new slate on St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedral in Indianapolis. His completed projects have received awards of excellence from the AIA, ASCE and ABC.

Mr. Buckner has also completed over 500 property condition assessments and spent five years as a forensic investigator.
